BUNCH-O BIZNISS
i was talking to court and holly yesterday about tom's aunt, but i thought i would put the prayer request on here too...
his aunt paula (who's 60ish) was in chico visiting her daughter who just had her first baby. on tuesday she suffered a series of small strokes and ended up in the hospital. she's doing much better as time goes on, but they're still not sure what long term effects will surface.
also, his cousin, alicia (paula's daughter who just had the baby), is not coping well. she had her baby via c-section so she's still not supposed to be lifting, driving, or doing too much. she's also suffering from an incredible amount of self-imposed guilt about the situation (obviously, none of this is her fault nor could she have done anything to prevent what happened). from what i understand, she's doing okay, but she's not dealing with this very well at all. she and her mom are very, very close.
aunt paula is the caretaker for tom's grandma (erm). grandma erm has been staying with tom's mom this week, but we aren't sure what the long term living situation is going to be considering tom's mom has to work and can't care for grandma on a daily basis.
anyways, i realize that's a lot to sort out, but if you could just pray for the family, it would be much appreciated.
okay... onto memorial day weekend. it sounds like trying to retreat in march is too much for everyone and not good for schedules or budgets. let's plan to nix that trip and just do the memorial day campout instead. if everyone can plan to bring their $40 on wednesday, that would be great. that way i can call on thursday and pay for our spaces to reserve them. i'm going to hold them for friday through monday. the peils are going to try to head down on friday morning and then you guys show up whenever you can. let us know if you want to caravan with us. the drive is long- about 4 to 4.5 hours so you might want to try to take the day off or take a half day if you can. if not, just get there when you can. we'll pack up on monday morning and leave after the boatnik races which will get us home on monday evening.
once i've set up the reservations, we can talk about how we want to handle food and meals and also nail down what other activities we want to do while we're there.
i think that's it. let me know if you have any questions.
