Habitat Info

Gang, here is the info on the Habitat breakfast I mentioned. If you're interested, please let me know.

Habitat is hosting a FREE breakfast, and they want people to
come. I have committed to bringing 10 lucky folks to this fine meal--YOU could be one!

Anyway, here's the story:
On Wednesday, April 18th from 7:30 am to 8:30 am there will be a free
plated continental breakfast at the Marriott downtown.

During the hour you'll learn more about what Habitat does in the
Portland Community. Last year they showed a short documentary and had
a speaker who had grown up in a Habitat house-I imagine the program
will be similar this year.

At the end of the deal, you'll be asked to consider making a donation.
If you want to support the mission with money, that's great, if you
want to pick up a hammer, sweet, if you want to donate services or
building materials, fabulous. If you just want to finish your
breakfast, that's fine too.

If you're into it, let me know. I can give you more details
and I'll remind you closer to the actual day.

Thanks for hearing my plea. Habitat really is rad; if you don't know
much about their program you should come hear all about it.

No NOPO for me

So, my good friend Jason Pollock is moving to LA tomorrow, and I'm helping him and his wife load up the Uhaul tonight, so Holly and I won't be at NOPO this evening.

:(

Very sad.

Have fun without us, and I'll see you all soon.

Communion and upcoming birthday news...

Hi gang :)

Bryan and I have a good friend that is visiting from New York for one evening and is having a big dinner over at the Kennedy school so everyone can see her from 7 to 9ish on Wed. Since we only have this one evening to see her we are going to miss home community :( But we look forward to next week and Tom's teaching! Since I am going to be gone does anyone want to facilitate communion for the evening? (bring a roll, some wine and perhaps a prayer/verse to read beforehand?) Please let me know- also thanks for your kind prayers-I am feeling much better and recovered after being gone from work 4 days last week!

PS- My birthday is on Thursday and we are going to go out and do something fun in the evening on Sat the 10th...would love you all to come- more info tomorrow on what event is planned- something mellow but fun!

this week...

...is our potluck night!

we were thinking that a burrito bar might be kind of fun. if everyone wants to sign up to bring something to contribute to the burrito assembly, that would be great!

us P's will provide beans, sliced olives, seasoned meat, and spanish rice.

other ideas would be:
tortillas
cheese
salsa
guacamole
tomatoes
sour cream
onions
lettuce
chips

and whatever else sounds good to you!

as a note, we have a few seasonal beers left, an (opened) bottle of red wine and we've got some other booze for mixed drinks.

see you all then!
